Trident Energy has brought the newly drilled C-45 infill well online in Block G offshore Equatorial Guinea.

Trident Energy has brought the newly drilled C-45 infill well online in Block G offshore Equatorial Guinea, at an initial rate of more than 5,000 bbl/d of oil on a restricted choke.

The Noble Venturer drillship drilled the well to a total depth of 3,148 m, said Block G partner Panoro Energy, encountering good-quality oil saturated reservoir sands in an un-swept zone of the Ceiba field.

Drilling of a second infill well, OF-19, at the offshore Okume Complex has finished. This also should go onstream shortly.

Thereafter, Kosmos Energy has contracted the Noble Venturer to drill the Akeng Deep exploration well in Block S. This will test a potential 180-MMbbl play in the Albian interval, close to infrastructure on Block G.

Block G joint venture partners include Trident Energy (40.375% participating interest), Kosmos Energy (40.375%), Panoro Energy (14.25%) and GEPetrol (5%).
