OSLO, Norway  Panoro Energy has issued an update on its E&P programs offshore Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

In Equatorial Guinea Block G (Panoro 14.25%), a rig has been contracted for a new drilling campaign set to get underway in the fourth quarter and comprising three infill production wells. All should go onstream in 2024.

Current workover operations on existing wells include conversion of an electrical submersible pump and behind pipe perforations. Flowline replacements are also taking place under ongoing field life extension and asset integrity projects.

A gas compression project is underway at Okume, and there are plans for future gas injection to reduce routine flaring.

At Block S offshore Equatorial Guinea, operator Kosmos Energy plans to drill the Akeng Deep exploration well next year to test an Albian play, targeting around 180 MMboe close to infrastructure in Block G.

At the Panoro-operated offshore Block EG-01, subsurface studies are progressing on existing seismic data to help define and evaluate prospectivity.

Offshore Gabon, BW Energy and its partners are considering further exploration wells in the Dussafu production sharing contract, using optional well slots under a current contract with Borr Drilling.
