OSLO, Norway — BW Energy has completed drilling and logging of the DHIBM-7P pilot well in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon.
The well proved more oil on the northern flank of the Hibiscus Field. Operator BW Energy estimates 8 MMbbl to 12 MMbbl recoverable, and it plans to complete the well for development purposes later this year.
The DHIBM-7P pilot was drilled from the MaBoMo production platform to a TD of 3,941 m at a location 1.5 km to the northwest.
Analysis suggests the hydrocarbon column extends across the boundary between the Gamba and the underlying Dentale Formation.
Presently the jackup Borr Norve is completing the DHBSM-2H well, northeast extension of the Hibiscus South Field.
