DUBLIN, Ireland – Europa Oil & Gas plans to drill an exploration well in 2020 on the Inishkea prospect offshore western Ireland.
The location is in the LO16/20 permit in the Slyne basin. Europa took the decision to drill based on a gas play identified by a geological model in an area close to the producingCorrib field and a gas discovery well drilled by Shell in 2010; proximity to gas export infrastructure; relatively low drilling costs due to the shallow water depth; and Ireland’s growing need for gas.
