PERTH, Australia -- The Aigrette-1 exploration well in block 7 offshore Mauritania, West Africa, was spudded by the Atwood Hunter in 1,380 m of water.
Aigrette-1 is on trend 43 km northwest from the Pelican-1 gas discovery. The primary targets are stacked Cretaceous sandstones. The planned TD is 4,925 m.
Dana Petroleum is operator with 36%, Gaz De France has 27.85%, Hardman Resources Ltd. has 16.2%, Woodside is at 15%, and Roc Oil Co. holds 4.95%.
