Appraisal drilling, 3D surveys continue offshore Tanzania

LONDON – BG and partner Ophir Energy have completed ahead of schedule drilling on the Jodari South-1 well and the Jodari South-1 sidetrack. The drillship Deep Sea Metro 1 has relocated to start work on Jodari North-1.
Following conclusion of the Jodari appraisal program, theMzia-2 appraisal well will be drilled immediately in an attempt to firm up in-place and recoverable gas volumes.
A third 3D seismic acquisition program is under way, including the 1,803-sq km (696-sq mi) Upanga survey in block 7, which is 30% complete.
Offshore Kenya, Ophir has started a third 3D seismic acquisition campaign. The Nala survey focuses on block L9, covering 1,560 sq km (602 sq mi). The Ndoto survey will be directed at block L15, covering 832 sq km (321 sq mi).
