RIO DE JANEIRO – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A has completed a formation test at the Florim offshore oil discovery well in the Transfer of Rights area of Santos basin.
The presalt well 1-BRSA-1116RJS (1-RJS-704), known as Florim in in 2,009 m (6,590 ft) of water 206 km (128 mi) offshore Rio de Janeiro state. The well confirmed discovery of 20º API oil in carbonates just below the salt starting at 5,342 m (17,522 ft). The well was completed at a TD of 6,004 m (19,693 ft).
Petrobras plans to drill an appraisal well in the area before year end.
