Aramco secures two more Asia Offshore Drilling jackups

Asia Offshore Drilling (AOD) has signed drilling contracts with Saudi Aramco for the use of two newbuild jackups offshore Saudi Arabia.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Asia Offshore Drilling (AOD) has signed drilling contracts with Saudi Aramco for the use of two newbuild jackups offshore Saudi Arabia.
TheAOD II and AOD III will both be managed by Seadrill on AOD’s behalf. Contract duration for each rig is three years plus a one-year option.
Both rigs are under construction at Keppel FELS in Singapore, with scheduled delivery dates of April and July 2013.
Previously, associate companyMermaid Maritime announced that AOD’s first jackup, the AOD I, had been delivered from Keppel FELS on Jan. 31. This rig also has a three-year plus one-year option contract with Saudi Aramco.
