KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – SapuraKencana Petroleum subsidiaries have won new contracts with a combined value of around $125 million, including various offshore jobs.
JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration has contracted the SapuraKencana Drilling Tioman (SKD Tioman) semisubmersible tender-assist rigSKD Berani for a 150-day development drilling program offshore Malaysia. The contract, due to start this month, comprises three firm wells with an option for two more.
Selex has commissioned front-end engineering and design and engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the radio shortwave support system (RS3) project for Petronas facilities off the west coast of Sabah.
SKE Sarawak has a 14-month contract involving procurement and construction for the topsides and jacket packages for theSK310 B15 development offshore Sarawak. Work is expected to be completed by 2Q 2017.
Woodside Energy Julimar has contracted SapuraKencana Australia for phases of the Balnaves field decommissioning project offshore northwest Australia.
The six-month program involves project management, engineering, and offshore execution for the removal of various items of subsea infrastructure.
SKA also netted a five-year light well intervention contract on a call-off basis from Shell Australia.
BP Trinidad & Tobago has extended the contract of SKD Jaya’s semisubmersible tender assist rigSKD Jaya for the operator’s development drilling campaign offshore Trinidad and Tobago. This will entail around 105 days of work to drill an additional well and to perform extra work on an existing well.
Offshore Peninsular Malaysia, Sapura Energy Ventures, Kencana Energy, and partner Petrofac Energy Developments have reached agreement with Petronas on the cessation of the Berantai risk service contract (RSC), which had been in place since January 2011.
This was the first RSC awarded by Petronas, and covered development and production of petroleum from the offshoreBerantai field.
Following cessation of the RSC on Sept. 30, Petronas will reimburse all outstanding capital and operational expenditures to the contractors by June 2017, and will assume ownership of theBerantaiFPSO.
