KUALA LUMPUR, MalaysiaHibiscus Petroleum is drilling four exploration targets on its licenses offshore Sabah and West Malaysia, the company said in a results statement.

Drilling of South Furious Ungu and South Furious Ungu ST1 off North Sabah finished late last year, reaching TD of respectively 3,032 m and 2,345 m.

The jackup PV DRILLING III has since spudded the South Furious Merah well, with a targeted depth of 3,382 m, to be followed by drilling of Bunga Aster in the PM3 CAA area.

At the end of October, the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) awarded Anasuria Hibiscus UK three blocks under the first tranche of the 33rd UK Offshore Licensing Round. The company was offered two more blocks last month in the second tranche, both in Quad 15 in the central UK North Sea.

Block 15/13c contains hydrocarbon leads northwest of the company’s Marigold Field development. Block 15/18c, which includes the Cross prospect, is adjacent to the company’s Block 15/13a containing the Marigold West Field.

The combination of stranded oil discoveries, hydrocarbon leads and prospects should support the commercial viability of current development planning of Marigold and Sunflower oil fields. Anasuria Hibiscus UK is working with partners and the NSTA to maximize recovery of these resources in the Quad 15 area.
