VANCOUVER, Canada —Trillion Energy International appears to have achieved strong results from the latest well on its multi-well program on the SASB gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
Last week Guluc 2 reached 3,910 m total measured depth (TMD) and a TVD of 1,623 m. Analysis of logging while drilling (LWD) indicates 73 m of potential natural gas pay within 14 separate sands in the Akcakoca Member (SASB production zone), with three sand gas reservoirs each more than 9 m thick.
The LWD-identified gas sands also correlate with natural gas detected at surface in drilling mud.
Currently initial perforation intervals are being selected to bring the well into production in the lower zones, followed by completion and flow testing over the weekend.
The rig will then skid to drill the West Akcakcoa-1 well to TD.
Trillion CEO Arthur Halleran said the latest result compares with just 20 m of gas pay proven by the Guluc 1 exploration well drilled more than 10 years ago.
