LONDON – The PetroVietnam jackup PVDII has spudded the TGT-H4-34P development well at the TGT field in the Cuu Long basin offshore Vietnam.
According to Pharos Energy, this is being drilled from the H4 wellhead platform at the southern end of the field, in a water depth of 47 m (154 ft).
The TGT-H4-34P well is the first infill well of a planned four-well program across the TGT field. Once each well is completed, it will be tied into the existing processing facilities.
Pharos discovered the TGT field, which was subsequently developed by the company and its Hoang Long Joint Operating Co. partners PTTEP and PVEP via three unmanned platforms and an FPSO.
Production peaked at 55,000 b/d in 2012/2013, but is currently down to around 14,000 b/d. The infill campaign should lift output to around 20,000 b/d.
