LONDON– David W. Williams has retired as chairman, president and CEO of Noble Corp. plc.

The board of directors has elected Julie J. Robertson as his successor.

Since 2006, Robertson has served as the drilling contractor’s executive vice president where she has had direct oversight for human resources, procurement and supply chain, learning and development, health, safety environmental functions, and information technology.

In September 2017, she was named to the company’s board of directors.

The leadership succession plan calls for Williams to remain with the company through February 2018, serving in an advisory capacity.
