BICESTER, UK — Salunda has won a multi-year contract to install its "Crew Hawk" Red Zone monitoring service on a jackup rig in the Middle East.
Crew Hawk wirelessly monitors hazardous working environments in real time, tracking individuals and equipment to provide feedback to support safe operations.
When an individual enters an exclusion or Red Zone, the system triggers an alarm, relaying notifications both to the individual’s personal locator and the area authority. Crew Hawk can also interface with active equipment to directly alert personnel.
The system, which has MET, IECEx and ATEX certification, allows users to set up perimeters in the areas that present the greatest risk to personnel.
In dynamic situations, a zone can be triggered around activated equipment or machinery. Individuals will then receive direct alerts if they enter these zones, with Salunda’s Motion trigger and e-stop technology used to pause equipment.
Performance dashboards provide an overview of operational and safety statistics.Heat maps of the location of individuals can be used to support operating procedures and people placement.
