HAVERHILL, UK -- Advanced Fiber Products (AFP) has introduced a new line of feedthroughs (penetrators) for harsh environment applications. AFP's miniaturized and multi-fiber penetrators feature hermetic glass sealing technology for in-service performance over industry-standard epoxy-based optical feedthroughs. Typical applications include optical sensing and data communication for the oil and gas, industrial process control, and defense industries.

The AFP product line was developed to withstand long exposure to corrosive media such as oil, mud, chemicals and salt water. The feedthroughs are qualified to perform reliably under prolonged exposure to temperatures up to 100˚ C (212˚ F) and pressures up to 15,000 psi. The products are readily mounted to walls of wells, pipes, tanks, or in remotely operated vehicles for both shallow and deep-water applications. Feedthroughs are available in 1, 2, 4,8,12, and 16- fiber configurations and custom configurations are available upon request.
