HOUSTON -- Smith Technologies and Moblize have formed an alliance to provide operators with real-time data.
The focus of the undertaking, according to Smith, is to apply a new integrated workflow process for drilling operations that use WITSML as the foundation for bringing together all relevant experts in a real-time environment where they can easily communicate and work together on data that is automatically shared and continuously updated.
"Using WITSML as a backbone, we can now bridge the current islands of automation instantly, allowing our customers to perform advanced, accurate calculations to help them drill faster and to realize full potential of their investments," says David Moran, director of applications for Smith Technologies.
"The front line portable real-time aggregator of Moblize, DARP Rig, can effectively compile, aggregate and transmit information from a variety of well site providers," says Amit Mehta, principal of Mobilize. "The new data acquisition services, when combined with the web-based WITSML viewer from Smith Technologies, deliver advanced visualization data that helps all relevant experts make better decisions faster."
