HOUSTON -- KBR Eos joint venture with WorleyParsons has won a contract option for the detailed engineering, procurement management, and construction management assistance services for Woodside's Pluto LNG Project offshore production platform northwest of Karratha, Western Australia.
The contract is worth about $24 million.
Pluto is a riser and gas export platform with the capability to transfer 1,600 MMcf/d (453 MMcm/d). Eos was initially awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for Pluto in September 2006.
The initial phase of the project includes five subsea wells on the Pluto field with flow lines to the offshore production platform in some 275 ft (84 m) of water. A 36-in (91-cm) subsea pipeline will connect the offshore platform to an onshore LNG production plant with an estimated production of 4.3 million tons (3.9 million metric tons) per year of LNG.
