ATHENS, Greece— Energean has issued a letter of award to TechnipFMC concerning a new deepwater gas development offshore Israel.
The operator’s five-well exploration campaign discovered about 68 Bcm of fresh reserves across the multi block (Katlan and Tanin) Olympus Area.
TechnipFMC will perform an integrated FEED study as a starting point for the design of subsea architecture, with the work due to finish by September. The results will support the wider Katlan Field development program.
ROVOP has secured a five-year contract to supply ROV services to Energean in the Eastern Mediterranean, representing its first dedicated field support award for an E&P company.
It involves deployment of a work class ROV that is already stationed in the region onboard Energean’s Energean Star, a newly converted platform supply vessel.
Following mobilization in Cyprus, the vessel has transited to the Karish gas field, 75 km offshore Israel in 1,750 m.
The crew and ROV will perform tasks ranging from general ROV support assistance to subsea survey and intervention works to support maintenance and further development of Karish.
