OSLO, NorwayEquinor has awarded DeepOcean a wide-ranging contract to support the Troll B – Increased Gas Export project in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

This entails replacing the current 15-inch gas export riser with a new 13-inch gas export riser at the Troll B floating processing and accommodation platform.

DeepOcean’s work scope covers engineering, transportation and installation of the replacement riser, subsea tie-ins and pre-commissioning support.

Over the past few years, the company has performed similar riser replacement operations for Equinor at the Njord, Kristin, Troll C and Åsgard, and most recently at the Snorre Field.

Project management and engineering for the Troll B job will take place at the company’s base in Stavanger with support from its offices in Haugesund.

The company will use the chartered Edda Freya installation vessel for the offshore campaign next year.
