Drilling groups sign procurement deals with Aramco

Aramco has signed 59 corporate procurement agreements with 51 local and international manufacturers with a combined value of $11 billion.

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia  Aramco has signed 59 corporate procurement agreements (CPAs) with 51 local and international manufacturers with a combined value of $11 billion.

They cover commodities including drilling chemicals, wellheads, switchgears, vibration monitoring systems, pipes, compressors, structure steel, fittings and flanges, and air-cooled heat exchangers.

Baker Hughes, Cameron Al Rushaid, Halliburton, SLB and TechnipFMC were awarded the CPAs, one purpose of which is to support Aramco’s vision of developing a world-class supply chain in Saudi Arabia.

Supplier partners agree to establish local facilities, transfer technology, perform local R&D, and develop the local workforce and supply chain, thereby gaining preferred status with Aramco, Aramco joint ventures and affiliates.

To date Aramco has entered into more than 100 CPAs.

Keppel O&M has completed the modification works for two KFELS B Class jackup rigs, which will be deployed on bareboat charters in Saudi Arabia this month. The rigs, ARABDRILL 110 and ARABDRILL 120, are being chartered to Arabian Drilling Co., and they were handed over on Oct. 13 at the shipyard.
