LONDON — Britain’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has formed a partnership with an online platform with the aim of stimulating innovative use of technology across the UK Continental Shelf.
UK suppliers can post details of their technologies free of charge on the UK Energy Technology Platform, along with relevant field experience, for viewing by UK offshore operators and other potential buyers worldwide. They too will have free access to the site; this was previously restricted, which inhibited use of the platform, the NSTA said.
There are 128 live technologies from about 100 UK suppliers on the platform, out of a total of 880 technologies surveyed by the NSTA in 2020. During third-quarter 2022, 3,165 UK individuals visited the site.
Suppliers may also name companies that are using the equipment.
The project is said to complement the NSTA’s Energy Pathfinder portal, which allows licensees to advertise available contracts to potential suppliers.
