HOUSTON — Hiber has released its HiberHilo remote well monitoring technology to the U.S. market.
This tool is designed to help oil and gas producers monitor their remote wells via satellite connectivity.
HiberHilo connects sensors on wellheads through a wireless, solar-powered gateway to satellites, then on to an API or secure online dashboard. Multiple wellheads with sensors can be connected to the same gateway within a 5-mile (8-km) radius.
Through regular relay readings, the sensors can provide a round-the-clock view of the status a well, allowing production downtime, leaks or other issues to be quickly identified and rectified.
According to Hiber, remote wells are difficult to monitor with most experiencing integrity or production issues at some point.
However, HiberHilo enables digitization of well monitoring at relatively low cost even for the lowest-producing wells, the company said.
