OEG offshore cargo systems head to Ichthys, Montara

OEG Offshore has won a five-year rental contract to supply DNV 2.7-1 cargo units and helifuel tanks in support of hookup, commissioning, and production from the Ichthys LNG project offshore northwest Australia.

PERTH, AustraliaOEG Offshore has won a five-year rental contract to supply DNV 2.7-1 cargo units and helifuel tanks in support of hookup, commissioning, and production from the Ichthys LNG project offshore northwest Australia.

The offshore cargo units will be deployed on theIchthys LNG project’s central processing facility and the FPSO, both moored in the Browse basin.

Recently OEG dispatched DNV 2.7-1 drum baskets and portable chemical tanks, approved under IMDG / ADR and RID rules to support the offshore production facilities at theMontara field, 250 km (155 mi) northwest of the Kimberley coast of Western Australia.

To optimize freight and lower costs, the offshore tanks were secured into drum baskets for the road train journey to Darwin, Northern Territory.
