READING, UK -- Work will soon begin on a new multi-million-pound base for Expro's Tronic products division in Ulverston, UK. According to the company, the new facility will consolidate the Tronic operations in a single, modern site, and provide an improved working environment for employees.

Around 260 people are currently employed across several Tronic sites in the Ulverston area. The move will allow the business to consolidate its operations in one location, which has the capacity for more than 450 employees.

Planning permission for the site, which will house two environmentally friendly buildings, was secured in October 2007. Building work on the site in the Low Mill Business Park is due to begin in March, with entry expected mid-2009.

A two-storey facility will house the main production area, research, development and testing facilities, and office support elements. A second building will cater for the specific requirements of the company's core molding and machining capabilities.
