INPEX has agreed to acquire Longboat Energy (2A) from Seascape Energy Asia, giving it a 42.5% interest in the production sharing contract for Block 2A offshore Sarawak.
Pending regulatory approvals, INPEX will assume operatorship of the block working in partnership with another Seascape subsidiary, Topaz Number One, Petronas Caligari and Petroleum Sarawak Exploration & Production.
Block 2A covers a 12,035-sq-km area in water depths of 180 m to 1,390 m, northwest of the Central Luconia hydrocarbon province where there have been several recent gas discoveries.
