NEW DELHI, India – ONGC and Shell signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last week for cooperation in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) studies.
The focus will include a joint CO2 storage study and EOR screening assessment for certain basins in India including depleted oil and gas fields and saline aquifers.
ONGC seeks to develop CCUS/CCS as an emissions mitigation tool, through injecting CO2 for geological storage, and for enhanced oil production from its mature fields.
