This weekly update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements and more across the offshore energy industry.

Offshore staff

Al Cook, executive vice president for Exploration and Production International, has notified Equinor that he will resign to become CEO of a company outside the energy industry. To secure a good hand over to his successor, Cook will continue in his current position in Equinor until no later than April 1, 2023.

Africa Oil Corp. has selected Craig Knight as COO of the company, replacing Timothy Thomas. Thomas retired from the company in 2021 and became a consultant to the company. Read more. 

NCS Multistage Holdings Inc. appointed Michael Morrison, currently CFO of ION Geophysical Corp., as CFO and treasurer. The company’s current CFO, Ryan Hummer, was named NCS Multistage co-founder and CEO Robert Nipper’s successor, who announced his intention to retire in late July. The appointments of Hummer and Morrison will take effect Nov. 1.

David C. Hutchinson has been appointed managing director and UK country head of Semco Maritime Ltd. 

Scott Robertson, director of operations, will leave the North Sea Transition Authority at the end of 2022 to pursue new opportunities. Tom Wheeler, director of regulation, will assume responsibility for the operations directorate with handover starting Oct. 17, and with Jane de Lozey backfilling Wheeler's role on a temporary basis.

James Christie, regional director for Ashtead Technology's Asia-Pacific region, has been appointed head of the Mechanical Solutions service line. 

Getech has named Laurent Le Mée director of business development for geothermal.

EnerMech has promoted Alison Hazell to the newly created position of marketing and communications director.

Enerplus Corp. has appointed Sherri A. Brillon to its board of directors. The oil and gas industry veteran previously served as executive vice president and CFO of Encana Corp., now known as Ovintiv Inc.
