Offshore staff
LYSAKER, Norway – Kvaerner plans new investments to help it compete better for future offshore projects.
At its Stord complex on Norway’s west coast, the company has made various investments in the facilities with a total estimated cost of around NOK90 million ($9.9 million).
These include the creation of a new 875-sq m (9,418-sq ft) painting hall and a 1,000-sq m (10,764-sq ft) production line for insulation boxes.
Many of the processing plants the company supplies require up to several thousand insulation boxes, most of which are manufactured to size, in order for pipes in the system to maintain the correct temperature.
Purchasing such boxes can often involve long delivery times, Kvaerner said, with a consequent impact on project schedules.
The painting hall and production line is expected to be completed by year-end.
