Mozambique group to supply LNG to CNOOC

HOUSTON – Mozambique LNG1 Co., the jointly owned sales entity of the offshore Mozambique Area 1 co-venturers, has signed a sale and purchase agreement with CNOOC Gas and Power Singapore Trading & Marketing.

According to Area 1 operator Anadarko, the agreement covers supply of 1.5 M metric tons/yr over a 13-year period.

Mitch Ingram, executive vice president International, Deepwater & Exploration, said the company expected to announce further SPAs soon.

The Anadarko-operated Mozambique LNG project will initially comprise two LNG trains with total nameplate capacity of 12.88 MM t/yr supplied by gas from the deepwaterGolfinho/Atum fields.
