Lukoil inks terms for Zhenis development offshore Kazakhstan

Lukoil and JSC NC KazMunayGas have signed agreements on cooperation and financing for the Zhenis project in the southern Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.

MOSCOW – Lukoil and JSC NC KazMunayGas have signed agreements on cooperation and financing for the Zhenis project in the southern Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.
They will now enter negotiations with the competent authority ofKazakhstan to qualify for exploration and production at the block.
The Zhenis block is 80 km (50 mi) offshore, the nearest port being Aktau.
Lukoil has operated in the country since 1995, and is also a participant in a joint venture to develop the Tsentralnoye field in theCaspian Sea, and a member of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
