LONDON – Equinor UK has advised Jersey Oil & Gas that the semisubmersible West Phoenix will soon start a three-well program, the third being an appraisal well on the Verbier oil discovery in the UK central North Sea.
Verbier (Jersey 18%) is in block 20/5b. Equinor as operator estimates recoverable resources in the range of 25-130 MMboe: the appraisal well should help clarify the potential volume range.
Last month the partners received a ‘fast-track’ processed volume of data from a 3D seismic survey shot by PGS over the surrounding P2170 license area and certain offset acreage. Interpretation is under way.
In addition, the partners have approved a work program and budget for 2019.
