STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland – Transocean Ltd. has issued an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.
Offshore Brazil, Petrobras has awarded the ultra-deepwater semisubmersiblePetrobras 10000 a 790-day contract extension. The rig’s contract is extended through October 2021 and includes a blend and extend modification to the previous contract day rate, effective September 2018.
Offshore eastern Canada, Husky Energy has awarded the harsh-environment semisubHenry Goodrich a one-year contract extension.
Offshore Mexico, the ultra-deepwater drillshipDeepwater Asgard a one-well contract, which is expected to start in March 2019.
Offshore Norway, Equinor has awarded the newbuild, harsh environment semisubTransocean Norge a six-well contract and four well options. The contract is expected to begin in July 2019. In addition, Equinor has exercised a one-well option for the harsh environment semisub Transocean Spitsbergen.
In the UK North Sea, BP has awarded the harsh environment semisubPaul B. Loyd, Jr. a two-well contract plus four one-well options. The contract is expected to commence in March 2019. Also, Hurricane Energy plc has awarded the harsh environment semisub Transocean Leader a three-well contract.
Offshore China, CNOOC has awarded the ultra-deepwater drillshipDhirubhai Deepwater KG2 a three-well contract plus two one-well options. The contract is expected to commence in February 2019.
Offshore Malaysia, Shell has exercised a one-well option for the ultra-deepwater semisubDeepwater Nautilus.
As previously announced, the company has retired the ultra-deepwater drillshipC.R. Luigs and the midwater floater Songa Delta.
