Omnisens to monitor Fenja pipe-in-pipe system offshore mid-Norway

TechnipFMC has contracted Omnisens to design, manufacture, and service the monitoring solution installed on the electrically trace heated pipe-in-pipe for the Fenja subsea development in the Norwegian Sea.

MORGES, Switzerland – TechnipFMC has contracted Omnisens to design, manufacture, and service the monitoring solution installed on the electrically trace heated pipe-in-pipe (ETH-PiP) for the Fenja subsea development in the Norwegian Sea.
According to TechnipFMC, this will be the world’s longest ETH-PiP to date at 37 km (23 mi). Omnisens will provide its distributed temperature sensing (DTS) solution to monitor the system over a period of 25 years.
The two companies previously collaborated on the ETH-PiP for Total’s Islay project in the UK North Sea.
