LOWESTOFT, UK – Sembmarine SLP Ltd. has completed fabrication of a power generation module (PGM) and two bridges for Total’s Culzean gas field development, 145 mi (233 km) east of Aberdeen in the UK central North Sea.
The project will feature a wellhead platform (WHP), utilities and living quarters (ULQ) platform and a central processing facility CPF).
Combined weight will be around 30,000 metric tons (33,069 tons) for the integrated topsides which will handle up to 500 MMcf/d of gas and 25,000 b/d of condensate.
The three Culzean topsides were constructed at the SMOP Admiralty Yard in Singapore over a period of 32 months. The WHP and CPF sailed from Singapore in early May, followed by the ULQ, compression module and flare tower at the end of May.
The PGM, which has just departed from Lowestoft, will be located on the CPF once it has been installed offshore. The two interconnecting bridges, due to leave Lowestoft on Friday, June 29, will link the CPF to the WHP and ULQ.
Paul Thomson, Sembmarine SLP managing director, said Culzean was “a good example of how large offshore projects can be completed by close collaboration between our parent company, Sembcorp Marine Offshore Platforms based in Singapore, and our UK facilities based in Lowestoft.”
