Statoil gets go-ahead to appraise Sigrun in the North Sea

Statoil has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority to drill an appraisal well on the 1981 Sigrun discovery in the North Sea.

– Statoil has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to drill an appraisal well on the 1981 Sigrun discovery in the North Sea.

Operations should start in mid-month: the semisubmersibleDeepsea Bergen will drill well 15/3-10 in 108.5 m (356 ft) water depth, with the program due to continue for 52 days.

The PSA has also authorized the company to use theHavenjackup accommodation rig as living quarters for the Johan Sverdrup field development in the North Sea between June 2018 and December 2019.

Havenis a jackup accommodation facility, built in Indonesia, owned by Jacktel and operated by OSM Offshore.
