Eni expands production capacity at Zohr offshore Egypt

Eni has started up T-1, the second production unit of the deepwater Zohr project in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has started up T-1, the second production unit of the deepwater Zohr project in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.
This will double the installed production capacity to 800 MMcf/d, four months after the field’s start-up.
Eni expects ramp-up to continue to 1.2 bcf/d in May, 2 bcf/d by end-2018, and to a plateau of 2.7 bcf/d in 2019.
Zohr, Egypt’s largest gas discovery, is in the Shorouk block, 190 km (118 mi) north of Port Said. Eni discovered the field in August 2015 and secured approval for the development lease in February 2016.
Current partners are Rosneft and BP, and Eni has agreed to sell 10% of its 69% stake in the concession toMubadala Petroleum.
