Offshore staff
HOUSTON– McDermott International has issued progress reports on its offshore construction programs in the Middle East and Asia/Pacific regions.
Fabrication is nearing completion for theSaudi Aramco LTA II Lump Sum, Header 9 and BRRI platform projects offshore Saudi Arabia, while the nine-jacket work has finished.
The offshore Marjan power system replacement work is progressing with completion expected during 2Q, while engineering, fabrication, and procurement continue on theSafaniya Phase 5 project.
Five of the structures have been installed on the four jackets and three observation platforms, while the two remaining jackets and observation platforms should be installed in the current quarter.
McDermott has completed the final pipeline tie-in and pre-commissioning on Aramco’s KJO Hout project.
During 4Q 2017, Aramco awarded the company Phase 6 of the upgrade of the offshore Safaniya field, the program comprising demolition and replacement of nine offshore platforms and associated pipelines and cables.
In addition, Qatar Petroleum assigned the company the offshore Bul Hanine EPCI contract, with engineering and procurement under way.
Late last year McDermott’sLV 108 vessel completed most of the offshore scope for INPEX’s Ichthys project off northwest Australia. A few jumper installations remain to be executed during 2018 and 2019, after which point the project will conclude.
Offshore India, the company has performed trenching and installed steel tube flying leads for ONGC’s Vashishta project.
Consortium partner Larsen & Toubro has started fabricating the remaining subsea jumper spools, and these are set to be installed offshore soon.
