A jacket has been delivered for the wellhead platform for Lukoil’s Yuri Korchagin Phase 2 development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

MOSCOW – A jacket has been delivered for the wellhead platform for Lukoil’s Yuri Korchagin Phase 2 development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
The structure was built in Astrakhan. Preparations were under way last week for installation of the jacket piles.
The wellhead platform, 8 km (5 mi) from thefield’s first-stage facilities, will be used for oil and gas production, with the wellstream connected to the main platform by subsea pipelines.
A floating rig will drill the wells from the jacket.Lukoil expects delivery and installation of the topsides to follow later this year, with the integrated facility starting operations in 2018.
