MELBOURNE, Australia – BHP Billiton is assessing commercialization opportunities for its recent LeClerc gas discovery offshore Trinidad and Tobago.
The company is also making preparations for a Phase 2 drilling campaign, set to start in the second half of 2018.
In the US Gulf of Mexico, the company’s Wildling-1 well has been P&A’d after encountering mechanical difficulty. Wildling-2 well was spudded last week, with results expected later this year.
Around the same time the company expects to spud the Scimitar exploration well.
Offshore Western Australia, the company continues seismic work over the Exmouth sub-basin following regulatory approval in relation to the WA-475-P permit. The seismic survey should be completed in May.
