Alfa Laval will supply its PureDry, PureBilge, and PureBallast environmental protection equipment.
“One of our objectives is to minimize the ecological footprint of the vessel in the marine and air environments,” said Dmitry Lygin, chief engineer ofJSD6000. “Among the many different factors, fuel consumption, sludge production, bilge, and ballast water discharges represent critical areas that can have a negative impact on the marine environment if not properly managed.”
ThePetrofac JSD6000 is scheduled to be available in 2017. It will offer a combination of S-lay and J-lay pipelaying features with heavy-lifting capabilities of 5,000 metric tons (5,511 tons).
