SHARJAH, UAELamprell has issued a brief update on its offshore fabrication programs.

The company is working to bring theSaudi Maritime Complex, in which it would work alongside Saudi Aramco, to a successful conclusion.

Two jackups should be delivered toAbu Dhabi’s National Drilling Co. by mid-year – both projects are progressing as planned.

Fourteen rigs are currently stacked in Lamprell’s facilities in the UAE on behalf of clients, with potential for refurbishment works in the event of redeployments.

John Kennedy, executive chairman for Lamprell, added: “In mid-2016, a significant issue with essential jackup rig equipment supplied by Cameron LeTourneau resulted in Lamprell having to reach a settlement with a client, Ensco, for delayed delivery.

“The technical issue was resolved, with the remaining rig deliveries on track, and operational performance remains a key strength for Lamprell. That also applies to the company’s ability to ramp up as new projects kick off as Lamprell will be able to leverage its flexible labor structure to grow capacity quickly as yards start filling up again.”
