New strategic alliance in Southeast Asia

Aqua-Terra Supply Co. Ltd. has established a strategic alliance with China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) Oil Base Group Ltd. and has secured $44.2 million worth of contracts to vessels for vessels at the latter's Chinese shipyards.

SINGAPORE -- Aqua-Terra Supply Co. Ltd. has established a strategic alliance with China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) Oil Base Group Ltd. and has secured $44.2 million worth of contracts to vessels for vessels at the latter's Chinese shipyards.

ATS subsidiary MarineHub Pte. Ltd. is to provide integrated procurement and project management services to CNOOC Oil Base Group Ltd. for the construction of 6,500 dwt bunkering oil tankers, a 300-man accommodation/work barge, and 55-m (180-ft) offshore utility vessels. The vessels are to be delivered in 2008 and 2009.

According to ATS, under the alliance, MarineHub will be appointed the "Global Shipbuilding Partner" for CNOOC's Oil Base Group Ltd's field construction engineering company heavy machinery division.

Last August, ATS and MarineHub secured $14 million worth of shipbuilding contracts for CNOOC shipyards.
