CONSTANTA, Romania -- Engineering contractor Grup Servicii Petroliere expects the construction vessel C-Master to arrive at its yard this weekend, ahead of pipelay operations in Russian waters towards end-March.
C-Master is a multi-purpose DP-3 pipelay, installation and 375-man accommodation vessel. It also can perform diving, pile driving, flexi-pipelay, and subsea installations. It is equipped to lay up to 4.2 km/day (2.6 mi/d) of pipes up to 10 in (25.4 cm).
Earlier, theGSP Prince diving & ROV support vessel performed the initial subsea survey for the offshore pipeline installation contract for Melrose Resources’ Galata field development in the Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea, using a Triton XLX ROV. Later this year GSP plans to fabricate and install an 8.5-km (5.3-mi), 6-in.(15.2-cm) pipeline between the Galata platform and the Kavarna 2 wellhead, and a 14.5-km (9-mi), 10-in. pipeline between the same two structures plus associated piggy-backed liquids lines, in an average water depth of 80 m (262 ft).
