Bourbon Offshore orders 56 support vessels in response to continuing construction boom

(Paris) Bourbon Offshore announces that so far this year, it has placed orders for 56 new offshore support vessels, carrying a total investment of $808 m. This is on top of the 27 supply vessels already under construction for the company at year-end 2005.
The new orders comprise 18 vessels for deepwater operations, namely: four Ulstein P105 platform supply boats, and eight GPA 670 PSVs, all under assembly at the Zheijiang shipyards in China; five anchor handling tug supply vessels with 11,000 HP and 125 t bollard pull, being built by Bharati shipyards in India; and one multi-purpose supply vessel (MPSV) with a 100 t heave-compensated crane, being assembled by De Hoop in The Netherlands.
Elsewhere, Bourbon has ordered 36 supply vessels and two MPSVs to replace existing vessels from Bharati and China's Dayang shipyards.
