WOODBRIDGE, UK – Amarinth has won an order to supply five water treatment pumps to BP’s new Quad 204 FPSO, scheduled to operate west of Shetland on the Schiehallion field.
The API 610 OH2 A-Series super duplex pumps will incorporate Plan 53B buffer fluid seal support systems. They will be installed in the produced water treatment and reservoir pressure maintenance re-injection package from M-I SWACO.
Following consultations with M-I SWACO and BP on the water treatment needs and other issues, Amarinth worked with John Crane and BP engineers to develop an integrated pump and seal support system package on a bespoke baseplate that could be accommodated within the vessel’s restricted deck space.
The baseplate had to undergo extensive analysis during the design to ensure it provided the required stiffness and complied with stringent noise and vibration specifications.
TheQuad FPSO hull is being built in Korea and will be fitted out in Singapore. It will then sail to the Shetland Isles while undergoing commissioning en-route for operational duties.
