ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands –The Pieter Schelte, Allseas newplatform installation/decommissioning and pipelay vessel, is on its way to Rotterdam for completion and testing. The vessel left Daewoo’s Okpo shipyard in South Korea.
The 382-m (1,253-ft) long, 124- m (407-ft) wide vessel plans stops in Singapore and Cape Town with arrival in Rotterdam around Jan. 6, 2015.
In Rotterdam harbor, Allseas has a deepwater mooring site where the topsides lift system beams will be installed on the bows of the ship during the first months of 2015. Following, test lifts with the system on a test platform in the southern North Sea, which Allseas is building, will be performed.
Following that, the vessel is scheduled to remove Talisman’s Yme platform in the summer of 2015,deepwater pipelay for South Stream, and the removal of Shell’s Brent Delta platform later in 2015 or in the spring of 2016.
