CONSTANTA, Romania – GSP Offshore has taken delivery of three new platform supply vessels. Each is each equipped with a DP-2 positioning system and built under ABS supervision.
The 5,000-dwt vessels –GSP Altair, GSP Centaurus, and GSP Pegasus – are 87.02 m (285 ft) long and 18.80 m (61.7 ft) wide, with a deck area of 1,000 sq m (10,764 sq ft) and accommodations for 52 people. All were built at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding in southeast China. They can transport dry bulk products, general supplies and liquid mud, general cargo on the open deck, and other special products.
GSP Pegasus features a DNV-class knuckle boom electrohydraulic crane manufactured by TTS, GPCFO 3200 – 20035, rated 100 tons, suited for subsea services. The active heave compensated crane is designed to operate in ambient temperatures ranging between -20 and +45°C (-4 and +113°F).
These additions will lift GSP’s offshore support fleet to 13 vessels of different types (not includingoffshore construction vessels).
