Sevan Hummingbird offloads first oil

The shuttle tanker Siri Knutsen has successfully completed offloading of the first oil cargo from the FPSO Sevan Hummingbird.

ARENDAL, Norway -- The shuttle tanker Siri Knutsen has successfully completed offloading of the first oil cargo from the FPSO Sevan Hummingbird. The FPSO began oil production in September this year on Venture's Chestnut field in the central UK North Sea. The Sevan Hummingbird is the first cylindrical and geostationary FPSO installed in the North Sea.

The FPSO will be working under a two and a half plus two year charter contract with Venture Production Plc. The geostationary FPSO has a nominal oil storage capacity of 300,000 bbl and is equipped with oil processing capacity of 30,000 b/d and water injection capacity of 20,000 b/d.

Sevan also has signed contracts for the charter of three other production units. The company's first FPSO,Sevan Piranema, has been producing since October 2007, offshore Brazil for Petrobras, with a production uptime of more than 99% in the last six months.
