SINGAPORE -- The consortium of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. (Keppel O&M) and Technip Engenharia S/A is on track to deliver the FPU P-51 to Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV) by November of this year.
This 48,000-metric ton (52,911-ton) FPU is the second such unit that the consortium partners have completed. The first unit,P-52, is currently producing in the Roncador field.
WithP-51, Keppel's projects for Petrobras will contribute production capacity of more than 1 MMb/d of oil. This represents over 50% of Brazil's present production rate of 1.8 MMb/d of oil. In 2010, when it reaches its top operating capacity, P-51 will account for 8% of Brazil's domestic oil production, the company says.
The platform will be anchored in 1,255 m (4,117 ft) water depth in the Marlim Sul field in the Campos basin in Brazil It will have capacity to process 180,000 b/d of oil with medium API gravity of 28°, and 6 MMcm/d of gas.
