SINGAPORE – Golar LNG Energy has contracted Jurong Shipyard to convert the LNG Khannur into a floating storage and regasification unit to be named West Java FSRU.
The S$20 million ($16.2 million) conversion will result in an FSRU with 500 MMcf/d gas production capacity and 3.8 MM metric tons/year regasification capacity.
This is Golar’s fourth FSRU project for PT Nusantara Regas. The vessel is to be installed 15 km (9 mi) offshore Muara Karang, Jakarta Bay, Indonesia, and is to operate until the end of 2022 with an automatic extension to 2025, depending upon certain conditions.
